Price: $ 750

Rare complete Esmarch's ether - chloroform anesthetic dripping bottle and set in excellent unused condition.  An amber colored glass bottle, rounded with narrow neck and lip. A metal top is set into cork with short and longer metal tubes protruding from both top and bottom.  The bottle has a flat and convex side profile.  The pin and cap on a chain are used to close off the tubes.  There is a lint-gauze covered facial mask frame with soldered wire cross-pieces to support the fabric. The forceps are for grasping the tongue.  The set is contained in a well-made leather case.  This type of dripping bottle was used during the Civil War, but this particular set is from the 1890's and was made by M. Schaerer of Switzerland.  Squibb ether can and original box is included with the dripping bottle as a set.
