M 1840 Civil War Surgeon's Presentation Sword by Tiffany

Tiffany presentation M 1840 Medical Staff Sword.  Inscription on the scabbard reads:   "Presented to John Dwyer, M.D., Surgeon, 69th N.Y.S.N.G.A.  (New York State National Guard Artillery) Corcoran's Irish Legion, by the Officers of the N.Y.State Emmigrant Hospital, Ward's Island, as a token of their high regard and esteem.  September, 1862."

M 1840 Presentation Medical Staff Sword by Tiffany, New York.  Deluxe etching into the blade and high quality mountings include silver quillons (cross guard).

 

M 1840 Medical Staff presentation sword by Tiffany, New York.  Very rare deluxe presentation piece with the quillons (cross guard) of solid silver.  Silver MS (Medical Staff) in the shield of the cross guard.
