Maurice B. Perkins, M.D.

Maurice B. Perkins, Professor of Chemistry of Union College and Albany Medical College, died suddenly June i8th. He had been a member of the Union College faculty since 1865. Professor Perkins was a well- known expert witness in poisoning cases. Maurice B. Perkins was born in New London in 1836, and studied chemistry at Gottengen, Heidelburg, and Tubingen. In 1862 he was appointed assistant professor of chemistry in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York City and was afterward assistant in the Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard. He received the degrees of A.M. from the last- named university, and of M.D. from the Albany Medical College. He was the author of a manual of quantitative analysis.
