A wanted to buy list of Civil War medical books and
authors
The long list including English
authors
Dr. Michael collects and buys Civil War medical textbooks
published from 1850 to 1865. This collection is about the time frame when most of the
surgeons who were active during the War would have been educated or were
being supplied by the Surgeon General's Office with current texts for their
continuing education. The more famous of the authors were actively in
practice at leading medical schools or in the military service prior to the
Civil War. Medical books noted in the
Surgeon General's Office Library
Catalogues prior to and during the Civil War are the basis of and wanted for this collection. Please
contact Dr. Echols for discussion or evaluation of your medical books
published 1850 to 1865.
