By Donna Pliner Rodnitsky. Available at bookstores and on-line. A low carbohydrate gram counterThis has nothing to do with the Atkins' diet. It's just a handy little book I used to figure out what has carbs and what doesn't. Favorite Cherry PitterShucks pits out of cherries or olives like magic. Bought it at Williams-Sonoma. Most likely available at kitchen shops.

Favorite mini-colandersA set of three small colanders which will fit over a glass or small bowl. From Crate and Barrel. Favorite ingredient bowlsThree small cups or bowls I use to hold various ingredients while cooking and then just add into the mixing or cooking utensil. I have several of the smaller sizes that I use constantly during preparations which use numerous ingredients. Part of a set of eleven from Williams-Sonoma. Favorite wood spoonsThese mixing spoons are from White Forest Spoons, by Richard McCollum, Box 687, Bryn Athyn, Pa. 19009 1-800-947-0672 or visit his website at: www.spootch.com to see all the various types of wood spoons he sells. Favorite odd size measuring spoons and cupsFrom Willams-Sonoma. Cups and spoons for odd measures like 1 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, and 2 cups and teaspoons. Things you use, but are odd amounts. Favorite garlic press and peelerThe blue plastic roller (peeler) quickly removes the husk from the garlic and the press minces the garlic. Works like magic. Favorite cookware by CalphalonI'm gradually purchasing a full set of Calphalon cookware which is the hard-anodized commercial version. It's available at most department stores. I usually wait until it's on sale as it's kind of pricey. Favorite WhisksThis one at the top is different than my other stirring whisks. It's easier to clean too. Found at various kitchen stores and shops. Favorite cutting boardMade of Corion, like the counter top material. I found it at an art show. Bacteria won't grow on it and it's easy to clean. Favorite Kitchen Magician (chopper, grating, etc.)Made by Cuisinart, I have two sizes and use them almost all the time. Favorite pasta all purpose pot.The pot is used to cook pasta and assembles into one single pot which you place on the cooking surface. Can be used to steam vegetables too. It can be found at Williams-Sonoma or Crate and Barrel stores. Favorite apple slicerJust press it down on an apple and you get eight sections and no core. Peel and use in apple pie or whatever. Find it at various kitchen shops. Favorite little measuring spoonsThe three small ones at the top, are for 'a pinch, a dash, and a smidgen', and came from the Restoration Hardware store. The larger set, which includes 1/8 of a teaspoon, came from Williams-Sonoma. Favorite knife setsThe large varied set is made by Wusthof and available at any good cooking store. The small set of steak knives are for general use and made by Henkles International (Eversharp Pro). Favorite pasta and salad serversPasta server at the top is made by Calphalon and available where the pots are sold. The salad tongs are from Williams-Sonoma, I also use them with pasta. Favorite red plateThis is a special plate I used with the kids as a 'reward' when there was a special day like their birthday or when they had done something extraordinary. If you want one, I found a site where they are for sale on line. Click here. It's 'The White Whale' and they do a great job of shipping and their service is great.
