BBQ Salmon

 

bullet¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
bullet2 tablespoons lemon juice
bullet2 tablespoons butter
bullet4 (8 ounce) salmon steaks, 1" thick

Combine brown sugar, lemon juice, and butter in a saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, just until sugar dissolves.

Place salmon steaks in a well greased hinged fish basket. Place on grill about 3"-4" from coals. Cook salmon 12-15 minutes on each side or until it flakes easily, brushing often with the sauce.

 

NOTE: This is one of two salmon recipes I am going to share which he has not had, nor will he! I actually ate this very recipe in Juneau, Alaska in 1983 and used to fix it fairly frequently. Strangely enough, I found the very same recipe in a 1981 Southern Living (August).
