Ice Cream, Bananas, Strawberries

In a small saucepan, bring the water, sugar, and butter to a boil. Boil for two minutes. Remove from heat; add the chocolate chips and vanilla. Whisk until chips are melted and the mixture is smooth. Serve warm over ice cream with bananas and strawberries.

NOTE: This was in the February/March 2005 Taste of Home. It called to be served with bananas and a maraschino cherry on top. I chose to use bananas and strawberries and eliminate the cherry. I made it ahead in my ½ qt. Calphalon sauce pan and put it in a small pottery mixing bowl with a spout which I got at an art show. When it was time for dessert, I just stuck it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it.
