Dump Cake

Layer in 12 x 8 or 9 x 13 pan or ceramic baking dish in order given:

bullet

1 large can crushed pineapple, drained

bullet

1 can cherry pie filling (regular or lite)

bullet

1 yellow or white cake mix (pat dry mix down evenly on top of cherries)

bullet

2 sticks butter, cut up, and spread out in rows

bullet

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Bake 350 for 55 minutes.

Do not try to cut, just serve it up with a big spoon.

NOTE: I have been making this since the early 70s.  It is Michael's all time favorite dessert I make (right up there with the peach cobbler) and when he has his choice, this is always it or peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

I have used yellow, white, and butter cake mixes with this and they are all fine. I use Duncan Hines, but only because I like them. I've also used Betty Crocker and I can't tell any difference. Just be sure you dump on the DRY mix!

Check it after 45 min.
