Garlic Cheese Bread
Mix together cheese, butter, garlic, parsley, and pepper until thoroughly mixed. Slice bread at ¾" intervals. Spread one side of each piece with the butter/cheese mixture. Wrap bread in foil and bake 25 minutes in a 425 degree oven. NOTE: I found this on the Kraft web site (www.kraftfoods.com). It called for a loaf of Italian bread, but all I could find at Publix was "sandwich sized" so I got French instead. I sliced it into 18 pieces and spread the mixture as stated. I put six slices, each, on three large sheets of foil. I covered and baked one for our lunch, but I covered and froze the other two and put them in one freezer zip lok bag for later. I assume it will be fine. The bread was very good. I served it with picadillo and a strawberry/mandarin orange salad with poppy seed dressing, both elsewhere on this site. My husband said it would be perfect if it had pizza sauce on it; but there is a BBQ bread (elsewhere on the site) that I fix him that gives that spicy flavor! J |
