Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert

bulletIce cream sandwiches
bulletKhaluah  (not for kids)
bulletCool Whip
bulletHeath Bars
bulletEither an 8 x 8 or 9 x 13 pan

Put the ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of the pan, cutting to fit snugly across the bottom. Poke holes in the sandwiches and pour khaluah over the sandwiches. Spread with Cool Whip and top with crushed Heath Bars. Put in freezer and remove about five minutes before serving.

NOTE: I got this from a friend. She does this in a 9 x 13 pan and pours ½ cup khaluah over it. I did it in an 8 x 8 pan and used only ¼ cup of the liqueur. I thought it was too strong a khaluah taste, but that is going to be an individual thing. If I do it again in an 8 x 8 pan, I’ll only put 2 tablespoons of the liquere. For my 8 x 8 pan I used an eight ounce container of Cool Whip and two Heath Bars and that was plenty. I have another friend who does a variation of this: she puts a layer of ice cream sandwiches, a layer of cool whip, then repeats the two layers and freezes it. Whichever you prefer, the Heath Bars really make a nice topping!
