Marinated Cole Slaw

 

Layer:

bullet1 head cabbage, shredded
bullet2 onions
bulletBoil and pour over vegetables:
bullet1-cup sugar
bullet1 cup white vinegar
bullet¾ cup vegetable oil
bullet1 teaspoon dry mustard
bullet1-teaspoon celery seed
bullet1-tablespoon salt

Cover in casserole dish and refrigerate 3 days. The longer it sits, the better it is. And when its eaten, throw in some tomatoes and cucumbers and you can still enjoy it!

 

NOTE: This from a friend in Eustis and was included in the Eustis Service League cookbook, as have some of the other shared recipes. It’s a great cole slaw to serve with BBQ, fish, chicken, or pork! Truly, the longer it sits, the better it is!
