Salad with Gorgonzola Cheese and Peppered Almonds

1 bag mixed greens

8 ounces cheese

bullet

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

5 tablespoons olive oil or almond oil

Peppered almonds

Combine lettuces (recipe called for butter lettuce and radicchio) with cheese. (Recipe called for blue cheese; we prefer gorgonzola).

Mix red wine vinegar and oil (I used olive oil)

Toss salad. Sprinkle peppered almonds over and serve.

 

Peppered Almonds

1 cup sliced almonds

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

3/4 teaspoon sugar

3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients in bowl and stir to coat. Put on sheet in 400 degree oven. Bake 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. (These are also good as a snack)
