Sausage Rolls

bullet

2 rolls of Crescent rolls

bullet

1 lb. Jimmy Dean sausage or sausage of choice

Open cans of crescents and carefully remove. Keep together as rectangles, pressing perforations so you have four different sections of rectangles between the two cans. Cut the sausage into four parts and place ¼ on each section. Spread out almost to edges of each section. Roll up section, lengthwise, so you have four long rolls. At this point you can either slice into the size you prefer and bake OR slice into size you want and put on a cookie sheet and freeze separately. When completely frozen, put them in a zip lok bag. You can then pull out what you want when you want and fix them with various things: a church breakfast, a brunch, breakfast for the kids, snack for the kids, or slice very thin and use for a cocktail party. I used to keep them in the freezer when the kids were little, as they were a favorite of all of us! I have no idea where I got this recipe, but it was back in the ‘70s or ‘80s.

Bake according to directions given on the crescent rolls container.
