Ham and Pear Panini

bullet

1/3 lb. ham

4 slices cheddar cheese

1 fresh pair, peeled and sliced thin

Mustard

bullet

1 baguette

Cut baguette into two six inch sections, and then slice down the middle. Cover each half with mustard. Layer the cheddar, sliced pear, and ham on the bottom half. Top with bread, then spread either with olive oil or butter on each side. Grill five minutes in Panini machine. Serve with side of choice.

NOTE: This was in a Williams-Sonoma sale catalog for fall 2007. I used the above portions for us, as that is the amount of food I use for us to each have a six inch Panini. It did not call for mustard or mayo in the sandwich, but there is some mustard (the recipe is elsewhere on this site) which we really like and it gave it a wonderful flavor. The pear in the middle makes it pretty and gives it a really "cool" taste, too. Definitely good with the baked bean recipe (also elsewhere on this site), from Southern Living.
